Welcome to our site... my partner and I (known at home as Mama K and Mama T) are 14 years young as a couple and as if raising a 20 month old son and a HUGE puppy named Bama doesn't take up enough of our time, we have decided to start this website and blog about the joys and difficulties we have experienced and talk about the topics that aren't discussed on a daily basis. Let me just remind you this is not an easy task. I really admire folks who can get on here and blog every day. That is real commitment.

We live in Georgia. We work full time, leaving our little guy every morning in the very capable hands of his teacher at the local daycare.  We recently moved our lil guy out of the daycare he had been in since he was three months old. We felt it was necessary to give him a leg up - a more expensive leg up, but a good one nonetheless.

In the near future we will have to leave our home to take up residence in one of two counties that will allow Mama T to adopt our baby boy.  The second parent adoption was one of the reasons for the website-why do we have to move?  Can we try in our own county with just any old adoption lawyer?  How long will it take? How much will it cost?  Will our local daycare have an opening when we get back?  How can we afford our mortgage when we are paying rent somewhere else?  Can same-sex parents adopt in other states?  Do other couples have to go through these same hoops?  So many questions...

We want this to be a resource for couples going through the same journey-being in a same-sex relationship, choosing a donor, insemination, finding a suitable doctor, daycare, adoption, etc...
